Thinking green is one of the secrets to success in the Belize project. Modern aquaculture equipment for open ponds is enabling production of 4,500 tons of tilapia annually. Designed as an integration project, and situated near the city of Belmopan in Central America, the Belize project is excelling at breeding, production, and processing. Aerators, screw elevators, grading machines, and other efficient technology enable intensive growth and low production costs. Processing fresh tilapia for market, the project ships fillets to Miami. It also supplies fish to Mexican consumers and to restaurants in the tourist area of Cancun. This project utilizes green biofilter technology. Water is recycled through two reservoirs which act as an effective biological filter.
